Structural Engineering
Bridges, culverts, and other structures tend to be an increasingly significant portion of infrastructure and land development projects. As our facilities age and suburban development continues, structures must be rehabilitated, expanded, or replaced.
CI has extended its offering of engineering services to include structural design and detailing. Costello, Inc. clients include: TxDOT, HCTRA, Harris County, Levee Improvement Districts, Municipal Utility Districts, and private developers.
Services provided include:
- Bridge Widenings
- New Bridges
- Culverts
- Retaining Walls
- Floodwalls
- Junction Boxes
- Drainage Outfall Structures
- Single-Story CMU Buildings
- Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant Facilities
- Concrete Pads and Ring Foundations
CI structural engineers have performed detailed design work on bridges of both steel and concrete of varying beam and girder types. Treatment plant facility design consists mainly of reinforced concrete tank design of various sizes and shapes, which CI structural engineers design with the primary goals of constructability and longevity. They also use finite element modeling and innovative ideas to address structural concerns and provide a cost effective design.
